In popular music, a cover version, or simply cover, is a new performance or recording of a previously recorded, commercially released song or popular song. It can sometimes have a pejorative meaning implying that the original recording should be regarded as the definitive or "authentic" version, and all others merely lesser competitors, alternatives or tributes (no matter how popular)

My favorite cover has to be either....

The Animals' Cover of "Please Dont Let Me Be Misunderstood
    or
    Goldfinger's cover of "99 Luft/Red Balloons

my least favorite would have to be
Bob Dylan's cover of "The Boxer" Sounds a bit like drunken rambling.

1000 Miles by Hello Astronaut - I like it cause the original is by a girl, and seeing that I don't like girl voices but I love the lyrics of this song finding a good male cover made me happy <3

So Happy Together by Simple Plan - Good song by my fav band. <3 Shane says they took away the emotion from it. But I still like it.

Umbrella by All Time Low - Probably one of the most overly covered songs, for newer songs at least. I like it for the same reason as the first though ^^

Come together by Aerosmith - Even if it makes me think of dead people now. *glares at Erik*

Yes, I am aware. I don't like the animals version. Sue me |:

The furthest back I know of the song is by Something-Ashley, from the 1920s.
